Wrongful Termination

California is an "at-will" state, but employers cannot fire workers for unlawful reasons. If you were terminated for complaining about workplace issues, taking protected leave, or due to discrimination (because of factors like race/ethnicity, age or sex), you may have a wrongful termination case.

Workplace Harassment

You are entitled to a workplace free from harassment, including sexual harassment. When offensive conduct becomes severe or pervasive, it violates California's Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA). Text Marc holds employers accountable for ignoring or allowing harassment.

Unpaid Overtime

California law requires that you be paid at a higher, overtime rate, for more than 8 hours of work in a day or 40 hours of work in a week. Employers often misclassify workers as "exempt" from overtime or ask them to work "off the clock." We help employees recover the overtime wages they earned.

Missed Meal/Rest Breaks

Workers are entitled to uninterrupted meal and rest breaks. If your employer denies or interrupts these breaks, or schedules them "late" (i.e., after certain required time intervals), California law requires they pay a penalty. Rest breaks refer to the 15-minute breaks you are supposed to get twice a day (most workers get none) and meal breaks refers to a 30 minute lunch period.
